We all love the "classics", whether that classic is The Shining or Breakfast at Tiffany's. Most of my favorite classics are from the 80s-90s. The last two years, I have been trying to get the kids to watch some of my fave movies from that time era. Needless to say, they found The Shining BORING. Seriously. Zoey was a bit intrigued by Chucky at one point, but got bored with him eventually. But today was the day the three of us watched an entire movie from the 90s. Thrilled I was. Fib a little, I did. The movie was Jumanji. I had the board game when I was quite younger. So the fib I told was that whatever happens in the movie really happened when you played the game. I don't think Zoey really fell for it. But she said she wants to play the game. All in all, they loved the movie and that made my heart happy. It's hard to get the kids to enjoy things you liked when you were a kid.
Zoey getting freaked out by the spiders!
On to other randomness of my day (haters beware *cough cough*, Cory):
As a mother of both genders, when one acts up you can't help to wonder "what would it be like to have two boys/girls??" In my reality, I actually have two boys. I'm certain there are more boy toys than girl toys in this house. Maybe that's why Zoey has so many clothes, so she at least looks like a girl in my eyes. Sure, she likes Frozen, but she'd prefer Minecraft. Anywho, today I had two girls. My son was a more than willing participant in having his nails painted. How could I say no?!
He has very nice hands! And shockingly presents them well! Ok here are Zoey's...
Now, a little funny from last week for you:
Zoey colored a picture of a penguin on her ABCmouse.com game that looked quite weird to me. Our convo went a little like this:
Me: "Why does that penguin look like he's on drugs?"
Zoey: "He's on ice. -.- "
Bah dun dun tss
No, he was in fact standing on ice. And she definitely gave me squinty eyes. I think we are late in talking about what drugs are. Drugs are bad, mmkay.
XoXo
